 The
Mikmar Pelham Bit incorporates the traditional
Pelham cheek pieces with the unique light-weight Mikmar mouthpiece,
giving you the “Perfect Pelham.” This bit operates
through both direct action and leverage, using a curb chain
or leather curb strap. The cheek pieces are made of the highest
quality Stainless Steel available, with brass bushings insuring
a “pinch free” fit.

The Mikmar Slanted Low Port Mouthpiece positions our bits
with swept back shanks, resulting in less leverage than our
Standard Mouthpiece. Still very effective, this mouthpiece
option is more forgiving and protects the horses mouth from
heavy hands.

The Mikmar Double Jointed Low Port Mouthpiece offers riders
the benefits of a broken mouthpiece, while still using the
traditional Mikmar Mouthpiece style. The design of this mouthpiece
helps with lateral flexion, and also contours to the individual
horses mouth.

The Mikmar Double Jointed Slanted Low Port Mouthpiece offers
riders the same mouthpiece as the Mikmar Double Jointed Mouthpiece,
only it is positioned at a slant which gives the benefits
of a broken mouthpiece, while still using the traditional
Mikmar Mouthpiece style. The slant positions our Pelham bits
with swept back shanks, resulting in less leverage. This mouthpiece
option is more forgiving and protects the horses mouth from
over active hands.
The Mikmar Pelham is designed to be used with two separate
reins or a single rein with a converter. The Mikmar Pelham
affords the rider superior communication and the ability to
finesse their ride better, than with other bitting arrangements.
 Mikmar
is proud to now offer the new Tom Thumb Pelham,
as well. The Mikmar Tom Thumb Pelham offers a four inch cheek
piece, which provides the least amount of leverage of our
Pelham choices. The overall size of the cheek piece is much
smaller than the other Mikmar Pelhams.
